For Immediate Release: Emeryville’s 2Plus2 Partners is pleased to announce a recommitment of their long-term relationship with the Port of Oakland’s Social Responsibility Division. As part of this agreement, 2Plus2 will continue to host, enhance, and provide support for the Social Responsibility Division certification application as part of the Port’s Non-Discrimination and Small Local Business Utilization Policy. This web-based system is a critical component of the Port’s commitment to and interaction with the business community.

Businesses that want to get certified with the Port can do so online. There is a public searchable directory for the business community to locate and contact Port-certified entities: The website also serves as the front door for certified companies to update information and re-certify every two years. The backend application provides a completely automated workflow to manage all aspects of the certification process including review, approval, tracking required documents, renewals and a series of alerts to businesses.

“Our work with the Port of Oakland is a collaborative effort to meet business goals. In the case for the Social ResponsibilityDivision, we have automated a very manual, paper intensive process for certifying businesses,” said Cathy Dew, 2Plus2 CEO & President.

The Port of Oakland, works together with the County of Alameda, the City of Oakland and the Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) to make it easier for the business community to search certified firms with these agencies. The goal is to make it easier for the business community to work with all East Bay Interagency Alliance (EBIA) agencies.

“The process has been streamlined significantly with the automation of our work flow. Communications to the applicant and alerts tracking deadlines and key events have made our process more transparent and shortened the overall time for a business to get certified,” said Lila Zinn, Port of Oakland Contract Compliance Supervisor.

We will continue to partner with the Port of Oakland’s Social Responsibility Division (SRD) to enhance the application, incorporating more business rules and making it easier for businesses and SRD to maintain the database of certified companies,” added Dew.
