Team Escapes for the Holidays at the Palace Games in San Francisco!

In what may become an annual tradition, the 2Plus2 team took a "ditch day" on Thursday, December 22 to play in the city and eat, drink and be merry. We started out adventure wih a stroll around the Palace of Fine Arts and then made our way to the Houdini Escape Room where we surrendered our mobile devices and agreed to be locked in a room with only one escape and a deadline looming. We had a great time searching and puzzling and with a little help we made it out in a respectable 83 minutes and 48 seconds (average escape time is more than 90 minutes)! A great time was had by all and we highly recommend this activity. It was satisfying and kept our collective interest which, face it, is a challenge!

Design world of papercraft construction kits... marvel at amazing insects!

I found this super-cool, colorful trio of DIY paper beetle models created by designer Joop Bource of Assembli, a Dutch brand. The flat-pack model kits are available in three different beetle species including Stag, Hercules, and Atlas. As a fan of spatial puzzles, I appreciate what Joop has done here. The colors and materials are simple yet powerful. And the sheet-to-sculpture process holds the promise of creating a beautiful object in what might be a mindful journey. So, get off your screen… make a DIY paper beetle model (available on Etsy). — SD

Curiosity is the new Passion… But Don’t Take My Word for it

No longer is passion the word; now it’s been reframed as curiosity.

While this may just be a trendy term to repackage well-known concepts, I applaud the term. I like its playfulness. I like the built-in openness and changeability. Cheers to exploring your curiosity in 2017. May it lead you to bright, full and rewarding projects. — CD
