In Search of True Signs of Good Luck and Prosperity

While the official Tết celebration for 2017 was a couple of weeks ago, a good friend just had a celebration of food and traditions. The blooming of budding branches has a particular meaning. Very early on the first day of Tết, the head of household carefully skims over the branch for any omen of luck. Normally, a flower this type has five petals. It is believed that when a flower with six or more petals appeared, it would be a true sign of good luck and prosperity.

Check out these amazing images of the latest installation at the National Art Center of Tokyo from Emmanuelle Moureaux, a French architect living in Tokyo since 1996. "Forest of Numbers" is the latest in the "Color 100" series from Moureaux who was commissioned to create the installation as part of the Center's tenth anniversary. The 6,500 square foot exhibit space was filled with 60,000 multi-colored numbers arranged in three dimensional grids. Design for the 5 Senses to Create Digital Experiences That Matter

Our experiences are defined by our senses and yet most of our designs are created without sensory perception in mind. It is important to note that interfaces are a means to an end. As designers, we should be augmenting human capability. Instead we’re locking people into meaningless digital interactions. So, now what? Turns out it comes down to three things: value, meaning and engagement. By actively tracking these three things, you will design for real-life outcomes.
