Design and development of PolicyLink Information Portal, a targeted SharePoint implementation designed to provide Policy Link staff with quick and easy access to critical data. The project included:

  • Administrative Base Portal with recommendations for how to organize the site (sections/subsites) including Communications, IT, HR, Finance and Emergency Resources.
  • Recommendations for document libraries and associated custom content types to facilitate tagging and subsequent retrieval (Search) of administrative documents.
  • Design and implement master page template and associated CSS files to create an enhanced look-and-feel to be consistent with Policy Link brand.
  • Develop a taxonomy, proven out via a pilot project, allowing staff to leverage an abundance of program and project related content that is an important organizational resource.
  • Hands on technical support for internal resources managing the SharePoint implementation.

2Plus2 developed a branded SharePoint 2010 intranet sites for the PolicyLink Information Portal (PIP) and Summit Information Portal (SIP). The sites facilitate communication and coordination across all offices (DC, NYC, Oakland). Features include:

  • Document management resulting in easy-to-use access across the organization
  • Basic communication of current events (SP Calendars) and notices (SP Announcements)
  • Interactive discussion as part of online brainstorming

But the real strategic win was around asset tagging based on a global taxonomy. Through a series of ineteractive design sessions, 2Plus2 led the PolicyLink team through a series of exercises to develop a combination of structured content and document tags across type, department and core to PolicyLink's resource library -- focus area.  The result is a SharePoint implementation that provides easy access to information across the organization.

A movement is not a flash of light — it is a flame, a torch passed from one generation to the next and every so often we are blessed with moments where the smolder transforms to blaze again and we’re forced to race down the path of progress.
