Design has three distinct areas that need consideration:
Information architecture: everything from the navigation, menus and site structure to specific metadata and taxonomy that will be used across the Intranet in support of organization and search.
User interface: look and feel of the screens, branding expression, integration of external systems, screen flows, and journey maps.
Technical coordination: design within system constraints, push the platform
